Seminar Fakulteta za fiziku pod nazivom “Optimisation of ultra hypofractionated breast radiation therapy treatment planning with dosimetric verification using three different detector types” održat će David Rajlić s Odjela za radioterapijsku fiziku Zavoda za medicinsku fiziku i zaštitu od zračenja KBC-a Rijeka. Modern trends in radiation therapy call for an ever increasing dose per daily fraction to be delivered to the patient together with an ever decreasing number of daily fractions. These increased daily dose regimens require tighter error margins in patient positioning, stricter constraints for the dose delivered to the organs at risk, as well as better dose homogeneity and conformality in and around the target volumes. In preparation for the clinical implementation of such a high daily dose regimen for breast radiation therapy at KBC Rijeka, a dosimetric study was conducted in order to optimise the treatment planning technique to ensure minimal delivery time, maximal clinical goal fulfilment together with maximal dose calculation accuracy while maintaining high deliverability. The concept, execution and results of this study will be presented.
