EDUCATION
Born in 1991 in Rijeka. I live in Istria.
In 2009, I started the study of physics-geophysics at the Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, which I completed in 2014 in the field of meteorology and physical oceanography. The topic of my masters thesis was Determining the impact of meteorological conditions on air quality in Zagreb using a statistical model under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sc. Ivana Herceg Bulić. Immediately after, I enrolled in the doctoral study of physics and gained my PhD in December 2018, with a doctoral thesis entitled Wind field characteristics over the broader Adriatic region in the present and future climate conditrions based on regional climate models simulations under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Prof. Dr. Sc. Maja Telišman Prtenjak from the Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Science and dr. sc. Ivan Güttler from DHMZ.
WORKING EXPERIENCE
2024 - present Assistant professor, Faculty of Physics, University of Rijeka
2022 - present External associate, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Juraj Dobrila University of Pula
2021 - 2024 Senior assistant/Postdoctoral researcher, Institute for Agriculture and Tourism, Poreč
2019 - 2021 External associate/assistant, Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Natural Sciences, Juraj Dobrila University of Pula
2021 - 2021 Physics teacher at Ivan Goran Kovačić Čepić Elementary School, Vladimir Nazor Rovinj Elementary School, Juršići Juršići Elementary School
2018 - 2021 Meteorological observer Crocontrol
2015 - 2018 Assistant/PhD student, Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb
FIELD OF STUDY
I am primarily interested in climate and climate modeling. The characteristics of the wind field over the Adriatic region obtained from high-resolution regional climate models are my expertise. Based on ensemble of simulations I examine the climate change signal through several climate scenarios. I also investigate changes in the mean-sea level pressure as a consequence of changes in the general circulation of the atmosphere and their connection to the changes in local wind types. In addition, I am interested in microscale properties of different bora types and in deep convection events. Recently, I focused on agroclimatology and have been observing the changes of phenological phases of grapevines and olive cultivations related to the climate change.
STUDY STAYS ABROAD
I stayed at the University of Utrecht, Netherlands in 2013, and at the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy in 2013, 2015 and 2016.
