Scientific-teaching staff focusing on various environmental components have obtained and implemented scientific and professional projects, collaborated with industry, published scientific publications, undertaken notable popularisation activities and supervised a significant number of bachelor&#8217;s and master&#8217;s theses. As these activities expanded in scope and new environmental specialists joined the faculty, establishing a dedicated department became necessary.
