The University Graduate Study Programme in Physics and Computer Science at the University of Rijeka is a two-year (four-semester) teacher education program worth 120 ECTS credits. It is jointly offered by the Faculty of Physics, the Faculty of Informatics and Digital Technologies, and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Building on the long-standing tradition of teacher education in the natural sciences and mathematics at the University of Rijeka, the program prepares future physics and informatics teachers for careers in primary and secondary schools.
Students gain knowledge and skills in teaching methods for physics and informatics, school practice, and pedagogy-psychology courses, along with a wide range of electives. In addition to the teaching component, the program includes advanced courses in physics and informatics that build upon the undergraduate program in physics, providing graduates with diverse opportunities for employment in both the public and private sectors.
Applicants are eligible after completing a bachelor’s degree in Physics at the Faculty of Physics or a related program, with additional bridging exams if required. Graduates earn the title Master of Education in Physics and Computer Science.
