Physics and Mathematics

The University Graduate Study Programme in Physics and Mathematics at the University of Rijeka is a two-year (four-semester) program worth 120 ECTS credits. It is jointly offered by the Faculty of Physics, the Faculty of Mathematics, and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Building on a long tradition of teacher education in the natural sciences and mathematics, the program prepares future physics and mathematics teachers for careers in primary and secondary schools.

Students gain expertise in teaching methods, classroom practice, and pedagogy-psychology courses, while also choosing from a variety of electives. Alongside the teaching component, the program includes advanced courses in physics and mathematics that expand on undergraduate studies and open opportunities for employment in both the public and private sectors.

Applicants are eligible after completing a bachelor’s degree in Physics at the Faculty of Physics or a related program, with additional bridging exams if required.

Graduates earn the title Master of Education in Physics and Mathematics.
